This tent was perfect for my family of 4. My husband and I slept on cots and our boys slept on foam pads. We had plenty of space to walk around inside and the screened porch fit 2 reclining camp chairs nicely. The tent was very easy for my husband and I to put up. We had severe thunderstorms our second night out with very heavy rain for 3 hours AND quarter sized hail. We had some leaking at the seams, but considering the amount of rain we got, we were very happy with the tent. We're going to apply some waterproofing spray to the tent before we go out again.

My family used this tent for two trips. The first time a mild storm caused the tent to collapse. Based on our first experience we exercised an abundance of caution in setting the tent up for the second camping trip. We read the directions and made sure it was secure. The first gust of wind in a scattered thunderstorm again brought the tent down. It was a complete collapse which resulted in a terrified run to the car. Everything in the tent was soaked. If you read the instructions you'll find that it warns that the tent is not for use in inclement weather. It was nice and comfortable on a warm clear night but provides no protection whatsoever in the slightest rain storm.

had to water treat it because it leaks even with the rainfly

It is a nice tent. It is ok for the price. But the first rain we were in it leaked. We went out and bought {a} water sealer for decks and brushed it all the fabric . It didn't smell good for a few days but ever since then it has never leaked again. It drys clear and the fabric is still flexable. Now the tent stays nice and dry. I don't know why they don't treat the fabric when they make these. If you get one of these i say set it up in the back yard first and treat the fabric with water sealer and let it dry before taking it on a camping trip.

I have (tent) camped across the United States all of my life including some in Canada AND Hawaii. This tent , for the most part, satisfies my family's camping needs. Usually I camp with just my son and sometimes my wife comes along or we invite a friend for my son. There is plenty of space but I definitely don't agree that the capacity should be rated for 9 people...maybe 6 at best.Stitching at seems and overall material appear to be average at best [...] The rain fly when properly set up still allows for significant moisture to enter (rainfly does not totally protect windows). The set up of the tent was fairly quick, once my son and I got the hang of it.My only concern is the structural integrity of this tent. The designers at Embark need to reallize that its the end of 2011. Very few (if any) tent manufacturers are using metal for their poles anymore. That fact combined with the basic metal "hook" stakes point to a very basic safety faux pas by the design team, ie: not the safest setup during an unexpected eelctrical storm.I'll go ahead and recommend this tent, but plan your adventures accordingly-watch the weather forecasts. I would personally save the extra cash and get the similar [more expensive] next time I'm looking for a new tent

Used this tent for over a year, never had any problems with it. But over time, and after weekend after weekend of putting it up and taking it town everything starting failing, from the corner post secures to the tension posts across the top shredding. It's last voyage, a night storm blew up and this tent could not handle the wind. We were in a secluded spot in a valley and everytime the wind blew it would flatten our tent with us in it. It took all I had to tear the tent down fast enough, as all the poles were shredding and bending, and every corner anchor stretched and ripped out of the tent corners. So my tent is useless now, as you can not buy replacement parts for this tent anywhere, and Target is useless in trying to help you contact the manufacturer. It was a good tent when the weather was absolutely perfect, but don't trust it in the rain or wind. it's a very disposable tent, not worth the money.

Great tent, needs better stakes though

We took this camp out for its first trip over Thanksgiving weekend 2012. We were 2 adults, 2 small kids, and 3 dogs. The setup was quick and easy, though I think the technical writer needs some assistance writing better instructions. I don't think this would be easy to set up individually, but with two able bodied teens/adults, it can be quick and easy. Rainfly setup was easy. Inside, the tent is extremely spacious. This is good on warm summer nights, but it was tough to keep the interior warm overnight on cold desert nights. Tear-down was also a breeze, done by just one adult. I liked that the guylines were bright orange, easily visible. A huge negative are the flimsy aluminum stakes. Although our campground was compacted gravel/soil/limestone, these stakes bent after just a few hits with a rubber mallet. We were able to jimmy-rig the staking and were lucky not to be hit with a very windy day/night, but we will absolutely be buying better stakes before our next outing. "A" rating!

My husband and I bought this tent last year for a quick camping trip over the holiday weekend and we had been researching tents for a while to see what would be the best value for the size we were looking for and this is it. My husband is 6'4" and there is no way I could put him in a smaller tent. We also take our two English Bulldogs camping with us so we needed enough space not only for our things but the dogs as well. This tent is wonderful because of the size and the screened in area by the doors. I am always being eaten alive by bugs so to have this feature is wonderful. The screened in area sits the two of us along with a cooler and the two dogs. I would recommend this tent to anyone who is looking for a bigger tent.

Bought this tent took a chance on it because most of the reviews were good. I love the tent love how easy it is to set up and the screened porch but my tent leaked through most of the seams, leaked really bad where the pockets were sewn in. dont know if you want to risk it on this tent or not. if you do i know you will be happy with it if you get one that doesn't leak.

One Great tent

I bought this tent for my husbands first Father's Day. The day it arrived my husband was diappointed he couldn't set it up right away (it was raining). My husband and I decided to quickly try and set it up between rain storms. We had it up, back down, and packed away again in 20 minutes. This past weekend we went camping in it for the first time with our 4 month old son. We had enough room for us and all the baby stuff including a pack n play. There was plenty of room for even more stuff. What a GREAT tent.
